Votes at a glance: contracts, lobbying amendment, tax refunds and routine reports approved

At its virtual meeting the Forsyth County Board of Commissioners approved several resolutions and contracts, including a learning‑management system contract, a lobbying‑services amendment, a valuation services agreement, tax‑refund resolutions and routine reports. All motions were approved by unanimous roll call.

Key votes and authorizations approved by the board:

• Novoron Inc. — Award of a countywide learning management software and services contract effective 01/15/2026 through 12/31/2028 for a three‑year total not to exceed $111,975, with two optional one‑year renewals for a five‑year not to exceed $184,025. Commissioner Wilson asked whether training is online and why costs decline in later years; Shannon Hutchins, Human Resources director, said the first year cost is higher because of implementation and transition of files and the year‑to‑year cost thereafter is consistent.

• Parkinson Law Firm PA — Amendment to the lobbying‑services agreement to include reimbursement for $1,006 in lobbying and principal registration fees; revised contract total not to exceed $61,006 (fees are per client).

• CoreLogic Solutions Lehi — Three‑year agreement for valuation tools and services to support the tax department, three‑year not to exceed $110,562.63.

• Tax refunds — Two refund resolutions approved together: $19,378 (item 8) and $705,674.87 (item 9); the larger refund reflects appraisal appeals considered by the board of equalization and review.

• Routine items — Approval of minutes for 01/15/2026 and acceptance of the November human resources report, the December financial report and the December contribution‑based benefit cap report.

Each item was introduced by county staff, moved and seconded, and approved by roll call with no recorded opposition.
