Medina council approves budget amendments and procurement items; recesses to executive session

At the finance agenda, council approved a series of routine appropriations and procurement items:

• A pass‑through donation from Mr. Park to the police department was accepted.

• Professional training funds received from the state attorney general were appropriated.

• Staff described a $50,000 Park Foundation donation for rec‑center turf fundraising; council accepted the contribution.

• Council approved a then‑and‑now payment to Ohio Edison for December electricity and approved use of the emergency clause to process the payment.

• The street department’s annual PO to Kokosing for hot mix and cold patch materials was approved.

• An annual PO to Goodyear for fleet tires was approved; staff noted steer tires cost roughly $700 and recapping is used for rear tires to manage costs.

• Council approved minor water‑park job‑description changes after a retirement; changes reflect EPA licensing realities and add a CDL requirement for water‑break response work.

Each item was moved, seconded and approved during the finance agenda. After finishing the finance items, council appointed two additional members (Eddie and Natalie) to the salaries and benefits compensation committee and then recessed into executive session to discuss property acquisition/sale and pending or imminent litigation. The clerk called the roll for executive session: DeSalvo, Isabella, Coyne, Simpson, Hair and Simmons each voted "Yes" and the motion passed 6–0.
