The Piedmont Community Charter Board reviewed enrollment figures, approved personnel hires and the 2026–27 academic calendar, and recognized recent student service projects during its Jan. 20 meeting.
Speaker 2 reported enrollment as of Jan. 13 at 1,942 students: "679 in elementary, 659 in middle school, and 604 in the high school." The administration noted a few withdrawals and moves but presented the headcount for the board's record.
On personnel, Speaker 2 presented hires at the elementary campus: part-time teacher assistants Cassie Alexander and Lisa Shannon Davis were listed in the personnel report and approved by the board.
Speaker 5 moved to approve the 2026–27 school calendar; Speaker 1 seconded and the board voted in favor.
The meeting also recognized student community service: the elementary campus collected socks, gloves, hats and blankets for local outreach; the middle school's National Junior Honor Society collected more than 600 canned goods and drinks for Gaston County cancer services; and the high school's Junior Heart Board collected roughly 260 items for Levine Children's Hospital. Speaker 2 also announced the Elementary Patriot Singers will perform at the National School Choice Week Student Showcase in Raleigh.
The board set the next meeting for Feb. 17.
