CRA approves PIP grant up to $75,000 for Missouri Street facade renovation

The Community Redevelopment Agency approved a Property Improvement Program grant agreement with the David and Elizabeth Kofsky Family Trust to support on-site improvements at 322 Missouri Street.

Joanne Hussey told the board the total estimated eligible project cost is about $168,500 and the requested PIP grant is capped at $75,000 (roughly 45% of the eligible cost). Eligible scope includes exterior stucco and tile, upgraded pavers, installation of impact-rated windows and doors, and a new roof; the owners are also funding additional improvements outside the grant scope. Staff reported the application meets PIP guidelines and recommended approval.

Applicant David Kofsky described substantial private investment in the property and neighborhood and said the owners expect to spend additional private funds beyond the grant work. Board member Hernandez moved to approve the item; the motion was seconded and carried unanimously.

Ending: Staff will coordinate permit processing with the owners; the grant will be issued as a reimbursement upon verification of eligible completed work and submission of required documentation.
