ZBA approves special permit to convert 660 Riviera Beach Boulevard to single-family with accessory unit

The Revere Board of Appeals voted unanimously on Jan. 21 to grant a special permit for 660 Riviera Beach Boulevard to convert an existing nonconforming two-family structure into a single-family home with an accessory dwelling unit.

The clerk introduced application A2602 for applicant Elbelis Mannen of 44 Waverly Street (listed in the application). Mazda Schwang Zhou identified himself at the hearing as present for the 660 Riviera Beach Boulevard application and said he had nothing further to add to the record.

The board read the standard special-permit conditions into the record: if the rights authorized by the special permit are not exercised within two years the right shall lapse; the special permit is not valid until recorded in the Suffolk County Registry of Deeds with recording numbers provided to the city clerk and building inspector; and the appellant must obtain site plan review prior to applying for a building permit. After a roll-call vote the special permit was granted and the board closed the matter.

Next steps for the applicant include recording the special permit and completing required site plan review before applying for permits.
