Board approves Brothers Auto Sales dealer license; asks for neighborhood letter

The Springfield Board of License Commissioners on Jan. 28 approved new Class 2 and Class 3 vehicle dealer licenses for Brothers Auto Sales and Repairs Inc., d/b/a Brother Auto Sales and Repair, at 93 Wolverham Road.

Luis Ayole de Jesus, identified as the manager of record, told commissioners the business is new to him, that he is learning operations and relies on a mechanic to assist, and that the lot will hold about 20 vehicles. "It's new for me. I'm learning... I have 1 of my mechanics that is helping me a lot," he said.

Commissioners asked whether the applicant had engaged the neighborhood council. De Jesus said the council had indicated it would forward a letter; commissioners requested the applicant send the neighborhood council letter to the license office after the meeting. After a motion and second, commissioners voted to approve the dealer license with the request that the neighborhood council confirmation be provided to staff.

Staff advised the applicant to forward the email or letter to the office promptly so it can be added to the file.
