Chair Ellis re-elected as chair and Vice Chair Smith confirmed for 2026

During the meeting the commission held nominations for chair and vice chair for calendar year 2026. Jacob Bradberg of the city clerk’s office reminded members of eligibility rules (members may serve as chair or vice chair for no more than two calendar years) and explained the voting order.

Vice Chair Smith nominated Chair Ellis to continue as chair for the remainder of the calendar year; Ellis accepted the nomination. Chair Ellis then nominated Vice Chair Smith to serve as vice chair for 2026; Smith accepted. Clerk Bradberg conducted separate roll-call votes for each position; both motions passed with the same roll-call pattern (Member Beckman absent).

Chair Ellis said, "I accept the nomination," when nominated; Vice Chair Smith accepted the vice chair nomination. The clerk confirmed the motions passed and the commission moved on to other business.

Next steps: The commission’s new leadership will preside for the remainder of calendar year 2026. The clerk will record the results in meeting minutes.
