The Murray City Council confirmed the mayor's reappointment of Kathy Van Damme to the Senior Recreation Center Advisory Board, accepted a donation agreement to transfer a surplus 2005 ambulance to Tooele County, and heard progress reports on local infrastructure projects.
On the consent agenda the council voted 5–0 to confirm Kathy Van Damme for a term beginning February 2026 through January 2029. Councilmember Turner moved the confirmation and Councilmember Boland seconded; the roll call vote was 5–0.
Stephen Olsen presented background on Murray’s ambulance program and explained the department is surplusing a 2005 ambulance that "has met its useful life," and recommended donation to Tooele County. The council adopted the donation resolution by roll call 5–0.
Council members also received a report on the Trans-Jordan transfer station: facility use and revenues are ahead of estimates, the station is accepting curbside trash from participating cities, and staff noted they will start planning for the next transfer station when the current facility closes in about eight years. Separately, Ben Ford of Central Valley Water reported construction to meet new phosphorus limits is near completion, the new treatment process is removing more total suspended solids than the prior process and a grand opening is expected in April–May, with tours to follow.
The mayor gave a brief report on departmental tours and promoted the State of the City event at the Murray Theater next week.
