At its meeting, the Historic Preservation Commission approved two formal actions.
The commission approved a correction to the Dec. 10, 2025 minutes after Commissioner Harper asked that a transcription error be changed (the minutes misrendered the word "cantilever" as "canal level"). An unidentified commissioner moved to approve the minutes as amended, and the motion passed with the chair voting in favor.
On a separate item the commission voted to authorize up to $8,000 to allow commission staff to attend the National Alliance of Preservation Commissions forum in Minneapolis, July 22–26, 2026. "It's gonna be up to 8,000," Dr. Seabrant told the commission and added that she had confirmed the cost is eligible for reimbursement through a grant administered by Shippo. No commissioners volunteered to attend; Dr. Seabrant and staff member Teresa will represent the city. A motion to approve the funding passed with the chair voting in favor.
