The Port Hueneme Measure U Citizens Oversight Committee approved revisions to its annual meeting calendar to better align committee meetings with the city's budget cycle and received notice of a committee member resignation.
City staff proposed shifting the committee's regular quarterly meetings one month later (for example, moving the April meeting to May) so staff could present more complete budget figures after meeting with departments. "I'd like to propose moving from April to May because we just start meeting with departments in April...if we move it to May I will have already gotten their feedback and we would be a little further down the line and closer to the budget," staff said. Committee members discussed time preferences and asked staff to confirm availability of absent members before finalizing dates. A motion to approve the proposed calendar passed by voice vote with no oppositions recorded.
Separately, staff announced that Committee member Randy Diaz submitted his resignation because he is moving out of state. Staff said the city clerk will notify City Council and that Council Member Perez is responsible for recommending a replacement; staff will return to the committee with appointment updates as they occur.
The committee closed other business and adjourned at 04:44.
