External auditor finds no reportable findings; district fund balance up about $2 million

White and Associates auditor Artie White told the Letcher County Board of Education that the district's fiscal-year audit contained no reportable findings. "It basically says there's there's no findings that the, financial statement or federal program will," White said while directing members to the schedule of findings (noted in the audit packet on page 85).

White praised district finance staff for cooperation and said the audit team found the district well monitored. He described the compliance supplement timing (released in November) and explained it guides subrecipient monitoring for federal funds. He warned generally about fraud trends in other states and emphasized the importance of thorough monitoring.

White also told the board the district's fund balance "went up, like $2,000,000," and said the finance team had worked through multiple construction and flood-related expenses while maintaining reserves. He offered to elaborate on any item in the audit if board members had questions.

The board thanked staff for the audit work and moved on to other agenda items after the presentation.
