Wickliffe — The City Council on Jan. 26 voted to adopt Ordinance 2026-02, a measure to update and include certain ordinances in the city’s codified code and to declare an emergency to place the changes into effect immediately. Councilman Ballas moved to suspend the rules and place the ordinance on third and final reading; Councilman Lavonne seconded the motion, and the council approved the suspension and then adopted the ordinance by roll call.
The ordinance was introduced during the regular meeting and presented as an emergency measure. Clerk Sandy called the roll for both the suspension of rules and the adoption; the transcript records affirmative votes from members present. The measure was adopted "as presented." No amendments were recorded on the council floor during the meeting.
The council did not read into the record detailed line-by-line changes in the codified ordinances during this session. The law director and city clerk will post the enacted ordinance text and any implementing instructions to the city records and the city website as required by municipal procedure. The council placed a separate ordinance on first reading to dedicate Old School Way during the same meeting.
