Seguin ISD trustees took several formal votes on Jan. 30. Key outcomes:
- Consent agenda (minutes, tax reports, budget amendments, donations, investment report, delegation of easement authority with the City of Seguin, TASB policy update and other routine items): Approved 7–0.
- Resolution to support planning and expansion of State Highway 46 between New Braunfels and Seguin (requested by the New Braunfels Chamber of Commerce to help secure funding for the project): Approved 6–1 after brief discussion. The resolution expresses district support for planning and direct connectors at the intersection of State Highway 46 and I‑35; staff said there is no obligation attached to the endorsement.
- Superintendent-evaluation instrument: Approved 7–0 (board policy BJCD requires the board to approve the instrument it will use annually).
- Annual financial report for the year ended June 30, 2025: Approved 7–0 to allow staff to file the audited report with the state.
- Adjournment: Motion to adjourn passed 7–0.
Motions were made and seconded on the record for each item (for example, Trustee Bright moved to approve the strategic plan earlier in the meeting with a 7–0 vote; Trustee Guerra moved and Trustee Dwyer seconded the highway-resolution motion that passed 6–1). The board did not take any immediate policy action on the library challenges raised during public comment.
