Speaker 4 said the HVAC bid package for a project is out and that turf and field schematic designs have gone to cost estimators; cost estimates were expected back following recent submittals. He described permitting risks: wetlands and conservation review, zoning setbacks that affect bleacher and concession locations, and a board‑of‑health determination for sewer versus tight‑tank options. He said engineers and town DPW staff are coordinating solutions.

On facilities, staff noted recent one‑off repair costs (an example pump ~$35,000; elevator door ~$22,000) and discussed phased flooring work at some schools. For security and access, a quote for new core cylinders was cited in the meeting notes (~$3,637,000) and an initial card‑access quote (~$95–96K); staff said quotes lacked detail and additional bids are being obtained. For resilience, staff described a proposed 350 kW generator sized to power the entire high‑school building, though lead time for equipment is about a year.

Committee members were told more detailed cost estimates and bid comparisons will be available next month and that several variances and permitting approvals will be required before construction can proceed.
