Park Theatre Trust says building permit issued; Cinema SF Bay named operator

Tracy Farrell, representing the Park Theatre Trust, told the Lafayette City Council during public comment that the project received its building permit today and thanked planning and building staff for their support. "We received our building permit today," Farrell said, adding she was "sorry to be emotional, but it's a really big deal."

Farrell introduced Kathy Bowles of the Park Theatre Trust and prospective operators Adam Bergeron and Jamie Holker of Cinema SF Bay. Bergeron said the operators will meet with community leaders, library staff and local high‑school film programs during a multi‑day visit and that they look forward to programming and operating the theater once construction proceeds.

Council members thanked the trust and the operators for their work and for spending time in the community. The council noted the permit is a milestone and congratulated the local volunteers and staff who helped move the project forward.
