Committees adopt several routine items, oversized-vehicle restrictions and Measure M application

The Transportation and Public Works committees met jointly and approved a group of noncontroversial agenda items and several resolutions on parking and funding allocations.

Items 1 through 3 were read as noncontroversial and adopted as recommended (Item 1: draft ordinance expanding Santa Monica Highland parking meter zone; Item 2: motion on autonomous vehicle operator cooperation on vehicle operations data; Item 3: Mission Mile Sepulveda visioning motion, adopted as amended to include Bureau of Street Services funding transfer instructions). The Transportation side recorded unanimous approval on those items.

The committees considered three related resolutions (items 4'6) to establish oversized vehicle parking restrictions along specified street segments in Council Districts 7, 12 and 10. The measures were adopted; Council Member Hernandez recorded a "No" on the roll call for these items while other members voted in favor.

Item 7, a motion to apply for the city's local allocation of South Bay Cities Council of Governments Measure M funds for cycle year 2026, was adopted by both committees without objection.

Public comment included a constituent request for a handicap curb at 14313 Denver Avenue in Gardena and stakeholder testimony urging caution on RV bans and on how mobility-related fees are implemented; FilmLA deferred a comment on item 8, which had been continued.

All adopted matters were noted and the meeting was adjourned.
