Convention center expansion: 13 authorized positions mostly filled; five open roles not expected to delay project

Project staff provided an update on staffing for the convention center expansion project.

Michelle Louis, identifying herself as assigned to the project, said the expansion has 13 authorized positions and that "2 están en proceso de entrevista, 3 están en pulgadas para contratación. ... ¿Estamos a riesgo de demora por no tener estas 5 posiciones llenas? No." She said the project has arrangements to cover current work while recruitment concludes and that some positions are internal fills, others external.

Staff said they are tracking candidates and coordinating with other departments to replace internally loaned staff. Committee members asked whether the unfilled roles posed schedule risk; staff responded that current coverage mitigates delay risk but that filling the remaining positions remains a priority.

No formal action was recorded at the meeting on project staffing; staff will continue recruitment and report status updates as needed.
