Morton Grove trustees on Jan. 27 approved multiple public‑works resolutions authorizing contracts for tree purchases, electrical improvements and concrete sidewalk replacement.
Trustee Phil introduced resolution 2604 to contract Arthur Wheeler Inc. for trees under the U.S. Department of Agriculture/Illinois DNR Urban and Community Forestry programs; trustees were told the program will plant roughly 400 trees this year. Resolution 2605 authorized electrical improvements at 8300 Lehigh involving Commonwealth Edison and Lawson Electrical Technology of Kenosha, Wisconsin. Resolution 2606 awarded the 2026 concrete sidewalk replacement program to Globe Construction Company of Addison, Illinois.
Each resolution was moved, seconded and approved on voice votes. Trustees mentioned the role of partnering agencies and federal/state urban forestry programs in expanding the village's tree canopy alongside other infrastructure investments.
