The Washoe County School District Board of Trustees on Jan. 27 unanimously appointed Clerk Christine Hall as the board's legislative representative for 2026.
Trustee Beth Smith nominated Christine Hall for the one-year appointment required under board policy. Hall accepted the nomination. Public comment included praise from a community member, Pablo Nava Duran, who cited Hall's background in U.S. history and government instruction.
"I move that the board of trustees selects clerk Christine Hall as the legislative representative for 2026," Trustee Smith said before the motion was seconded and approved unanimously.
Earlier in the meeting the board approved the consent agenda (items 2.02 through 2.13) by a single block voice vote after trustees offered remarks of thanks to staff on several items, including continued dual-enrollment funding and construction management and FMP process revisions. Clerk Hall and Trustee Smith also discussed volunteer and dual-enrollment supports during the consent-agenda conversation.
The motions for appointment and the consent block vote carried on unanimous voice votes of trustees present.
