Board approves $88,275 in donations and a facilities steering‑committee charge statement

At its Jan. 26 meeting the Mahtomedi Public School District Board of Education approved Item 11a — donations and grants for December 2025 totaling $88,275 — and approved a charge statement establishing expectations and communications for the district’s facilities steering committee.

Chair introduced the donations and grants item and Director Stout moved to approve; Director Dohman seconded and the motion carried. The chair said the funds will be used to further the district’s mission and according to donor wishes.

On the facilities steering committee charge, the superintendent presented a written charge previously shared with the board that defines the committee’s role overseeing facilities improvements and how staff and architects will communicate progress. Director Dohman moved to approve the charge statement and Director Peterson seconded; the board voted to approve. The superintendent described the communications plan: monthly updates through the facilities committee and periodic reports to the full board, with additional reporting at the end of schematic and design‑development phases.

Separately, a board member moved and the board approved tabling Item 11b to a future meeting. The board adjourned at 8:00 p.m.
