Local Officials Day draws 800+; 567 bills and resolutions drafted so far, organizer says

Unidentified Speaker, speaking at a week‑1 midweek briefing for local officials, said more than 800 people attended Local Officials Day at the Salt Palace, including youth councils, city council members, mayors and legislators. “We had over 800 attendees between youth councils, city council members, mayors, and legislators at the Salt Palace,” the speaker said.

The speaker also provided a snapshot of legislation filed so far in the 2026 session, reading exact counts: 335 House bills, 28 House resolutions, 186 Senate bills and 18 Senate resolutions, for a total of 567 bills and resolutions already drafted.
