Commissioners approve routine minutes, claims, contracts and several landfill and construction agreements

At its Jan. 26 meeting, the Elkhart County Board of Commissioners approved a series of routine items and contracts.

The board unanimously approved minutes from Jan. 20, 2026, allowed regular claims and payroll presented by county staff, and accepted the December–Jan. 16 weights and measures report.

Contracts and procurement actions approved included notice to post bidders for the 2026‑1 paving packet (17.73 miles) funded with local dollars, an independent contractor agreement with C and E Excavating Inc. tied to a recently awarded landfill project, a task order for CNE Excavating Inc. for landfill cell construction, and an independent contractor agreement and task order with Blue Flame Crew LLC for header pipe improvements at the county landfill. The board also approved an ordinance titled '2025 S‑23 supplement' to incorporate ordinances and resolutions passed on or before July 31, 2025 into the county code.
