Milwaukie planning commission elects Greatrick as chair, Penick as vice chair

The Milwaukie Planning Commission elected Vice Chair Greatrick as chair and Commissioner Penick as vice chair for the coming year, approving the slate in a unanimous roll-call vote.

Candidates addressed the commission before the vote. Vice Chair Greatrick said she was "very interested in doing so" and noted her readiness to serve and ability to commit time to chair duties; Commissioner Penick accepted the nomination and said the role would be an opportunity to further develop planning skills and public service.

Multiple commissioners offered support and thanks to outgoing Chair Edge for service and mentorship. The commission completed the slate by formal motion, second and roll-call vote; staff will proceed with the usual meeting preparation and the new officers will preside at upcoming sessions.

The meeting then moved to forecasts and routine scheduling announcements before adjourning.
