USU extension reports 4‑H enrollment and grants as county signs annual agreement amendment

Uinta County approved the annual agreement amendment with Utah State University that reflects the updated fiscal‑year budget the commission approved in December.

Unidentified Speaker 10 presented the USU Extension report, saying the county had 271 active 4‑H youth, 49 active adult volunteers across livestock, horse and small‑animal programs, and that the county's livestock team placed fifth nationally in recent competition. Staff also said they secured a UCOR grant of $8,417 to expand outdoor and environmental education and have secured about $237,000 for home and community programs.

The commission moved to approve the agreement amendment and voted to approve it. Extension staff noted ongoing program expansion, a new drone and agriculture program, and construction of a designated classroom and office space for extension activities.
