Avondale Youth Assistance tells Auburn Hills council about back-to-school and student support efforts

Michael Kazak, chairperson of Avondale Youth Assistance, briefed the Auburn Hills City Council on the nonprofit’s recent activities and volunteer efforts.

Kazak described a back-to-school event in which the organization took 25 caseload students to shop for clothes, books and supplies so they could start the school year prepared. “We buy them clothes. We buy them books. We buy them colored pencils,” he said, describing the group’s focus on practical needs that help students succeed.

Kazak also thanked the council for its support and noted personal family circumstances that had kept him from being as active recently. Council members thanked Avondale Youth Assistance for its work. The presentation was brief and informational; no formal council action was recorded.
