County staff report delayed evidentiary hearing and planned grant briefing; building move mostly complete

County staff provided administrative updates during the session, including a postponed hearing, a building relocation, and an upcoming grant briefing.

Evidentiary hearing: Speaker 5 (Dan) said the weather caused delays that affected a scheduled evidentiary hearing. He said the tentative last date for the hearing is now Thursday in Columbus at the East Broad Street building, and that a colleague (Craig) will be available for phone follow-up to clarify reapplication for a pilot program.

Building move and services: Jamie reported that Ohio's job services have moved from the lower level into the former health district space and that public access services (résumé assistance, phone access, job-search help) are available while some lab/computer stations and IT connections remain to be completed. Jamie praised the moving company for completing the relocation under the estimated purchase-order cost.

Grant briefing: Jamie said an engineer will present information about a grant awarded to the county at a later meeting; he emphasized that the session is for information gathering only and no decisions will be made.

Next steps: Staff will continue to work on IT/security tie-ups for the relocated services, schedule the engineer’s grant briefing, and provide clarifications about the pilot-program reapplication as needed.
