Oliver County approves courthouse generator hookup and one-year maintenance contract

Oliver County commissioners approved an estimate to complete electrical work so the courthouse generator can power the entire building (not just the sheriff’s department) and authorized a one-year preventative maintenance contract at $750 per year.

Staff presented two quotes: one for the additional wiring and connections required to integrate the new generator with courthouse systems, and another for an annual maintenance visit. The contractor reported the generator was sized correctly but additional connections and inspections were needed. Commissioners discussed scheduling the work to minimize courthouse disruption and to avoid extended outages in cold weather.

The commission moved and approved the estimate and authorized a one-year maintenance agreement; staff will verify contract terms to avoid automatic renewals and will confirm a suitable date for the work with the contractor.
