The Fulton County Board of Commissioners voted 3-0 on Dec. 31, 2025, to adopt a resolution offering health and wellness services to eligible full-time county employees beginning Jan. 1, 2026. The resolution, read in full to the board, ties services to an agreement with a local provider and sets enrollment and participation requirements.
Under the approved terms, on-site physician clinic visits or nurse-practitioner visits will be available for routine complaints such as sore throats, ear infections, respiratory illness, flu symptoms, strains and sprains; specialty care, imaging, emergency department and inpatient services are not covered under the program. The program also includes face-to-face biannual health coaching, email/telephone clinical coaching, biometric testing, basic laboratory screenings (including fasting blood glucose, HbA1c and lipid profile), educational events and a monthly wellness newsletter.
Commissioners said the resolution amends an earlier agreement and aligns Fulton County’s program with the county council’s funding decisions made Nov. 21. The resolution states that employees who accept the health and wellness services have until Apr. 1, 2026, to attend a wellness clinic or provide proof of an annual wellness exam; employees who do not meet the requirement will be charged $35 per month for services provided thereafter.
During the reading, the presiding commissioner said: “Therefore, be it resolved that the county will offer health and wellness services beginning 01/01/2026.” The board then moved to accept the resolution and voted 3-0 to approve it.
Next steps include executing the underlying agreement with the health-and-wellness provider and updating plan details and costs as the terms change. The resolution notes the program is based on an agreement with a local hospital provider for 2026 and that covered services and costs will be updated as necessary.
The board recorded the vote and indicated the resolution will be signed shortly at the meeting.
