The Community Parents Board approved window graphic designs for two downtown businesses after staff confirmed the graphics either met or could be adjusted to meet the Unified Development Ordinance coverage limit.
For one storefront staff noted only one of six proposed windows met the 25% maximum coverage, and the remaining windows “would just have to be reduced down slightly to meet the 25% maximum coverage area,” Speaker 4 told the board. The board approved the overall design and allowed staff to work with applicants to reduce the noncompliant panels before permitting.
For The Coffee Movement at 11 23rd Avenue, staff said the single proposed white graphic meets the UDO coverage limit and that the business already has approval for a hanging bracket sign; board members praised the design and approved the window graphic as presented.
Next steps: staff will verify final measurements and confirm each window graphic does not exceed the 25% window coverage limit before permits are issued.
