District joins statewide "Florida's Future Powered by Public Schools" campaign to amplify school achievements

Polk County Schools staff presented a briefing on a statewide communications initiative called "Florida's Future Powered by Public Schools," coordinated with FADs and other district public-information officers. Communications lead Mr. Geary said the campaign aims to amplify positive stories about public education across Florida using shared templates, graphics, and a central repository that smaller districts can use without large in-house teams.

Phase 1 (January through May) includes monthly themes—acceleration pathways in January, STEM/magnet programs in February, arts and extracurriculars in March, student support services in April and graduation in May—with pre-built materials for participating districts. Staff described a plan to make a draft website and asset repository available to districts, and to coordinate messaging and limited paid-ad placement if resources become available through FADs.

Board members and staff suggested creating a similar district-level repository so Polk schools can easily upload local stories and images for centralized use. The superintendent and staff agreed to explore options to make district-level materials accessible to all schools and to coordinate state-level themes with district communications priorities.
