The City of Tuscaloosa Zoning Board of Adjustments approved a petition on Jan. 26 allowing a short-term rental at 2516 Stanford Drive in Council District 6, adopting staff-recommended occupancy and parking limits.
A staff presenter told the board the property is in SFR-2, south of Hargrove Road and east of Stonehen Park, is three bedrooms and two bathrooms, and noted the petitioner manages more than 60 properties and has experience managing rentals for VA and insurance clients. The presenter said Miss Lockhart will be the 24-hour contact during rentals and recommended a limit of six adults and three vehicles based on driveway and off-street parking capacity.
Vanessa Lockhart, who identified herself as a property manager, said she previously petitioned the board for this property and was granted a short-term rental; she told the board renovations delayed obtaining a business license. Lockhart said the renovations were cosmetic and did not add square footage. A board member asked whether previous permission had numbered '63' on the record and Lockhart affirmed.
Board members expressed support for the staff recommendation and for Lockhart’s experience. The chair read the petition CBA-02-26 and the board voted to approve the special exception with the staff-recommended limits.
