Shannon Hutchins, Forsyth County human resources director, briefed commissioners on a resolution to award a three-year contract for a countywide learning management system (LMS) to the lowest qualified proposer, with a total cost not to exceed $111,975.
Hutchins said staff issued an RFP and received 18 proposals, 12 of which met the stated qualifications; two did not respond to follow-up and four failed to meet qualifications. She described the LMS as a way to centralize mandatory and enrichment training across county departments and said the vendor offers a training catalog that the county can use or augment.
When asked whether the county would receive embedded training (for example, CPR or OSHA) or only the software platform, Hutchins said the vendor catalog contains training content but “it may not contain everything,” and the county “may have to pull in some additional trainings or develop our own to add to the system.”
Note on vendor name: the transcript contains inconsistent spellings of the recommended vendor (appearing as “Novoront Inc.,” “Novgorod Inc,” and “Novara Inc.” in different lines). This article uses the first spelling from the briefing, Novoront Inc., and flags the transcript inconsistency for follow-up verification in procurement records.
What’s next: The resolution to award the contract was briefed on Jan. 27 and is on the Jan. 29 agenda for formal action. No final award was recorded at the briefing.
