LaSalle County probation officials presented their annual and monthly statistics and a financial summary to the Law and Justice Committee on Jan. 27.
The department reported total income for the fiscal reporting period of $2,039,210.84, with probation cost reimbursements from other counties in the circuit at $1,132,576.25 and AOIC salary reimbursement at $904,768.09. The department reported probation fees collected year to date of $53,053.68 and interest income of $18,933.91.
Grant realizations noted in the presentation included $114,352.60 for an intensive probation grant and $729,666.41 to date for juvenile redeploy funding. The presenter said some categories (for example, mental health evaluations) can be difficult to estimate and have small overruns or variances year to year.
On caseloads, Susan presented December monthly figures for LaSalle County: an active juvenile caseload of 95 and administrative juvenile caseload of 8 for the month; adult active caseload for December was 481 with administrative caseload 282. Annual figures showed modest changes across the reporting year, with beginning and ending active adult caseloads given in the presentation.
The committee moved to approve the annual report for the probation department; the motion carried. Committee members did not change program funding in the meeting; next steps are routine departmental tracking and the usual budget processes for any changes.
