At its Jan. 27 meeting the LaSalle County Law and Justice Committee moved through routine business and approved a series of reports and bills.
The committee approved the minutes of the previous meeting and carried motions to accept a written report from the public defender's office and to approve bills presented for the public defender. Circuit Clerk Greg reported December collections of $252,031.47 for the county and agency collections of $75,474.41, along with passport activity (358 passports for the year at $35 each). Jake presented his department's figures, reporting monthly income of roughly $93,197.50 and an average daily jail population of five.
Tricia summarized jury operations for January (1,529 summons, 798 reminders, two grand jury dates, two jury trials, 80 jurors brought in and 54 failures to appear). Committee motions to approve department reports and bills were routinely carried during the meeting.
The committee adjourned after advancing items for administrative review and referring the part‑time assistant state's attorney proposal to salary & labor.
