Lawrence County commissioners on Jan. 27, 2026, approved several routine fiscal and contract items during a regularly scheduled meeting. The board unanimously accepted three warrant registers dated Jan. 16, 21 and 22, and approved the Jan. 20 meeting minutes.
Donald Andrews, representing Cray Youth and Family Services (CYS), presented two contract amendments that update provider rate sheets tied to the county’s fee‑for‑service program. The changes—introduced as Resolution 7 (in‑home services) and Resolution 8 (special grant program)—were described as routine rate adjustments expected in the program’s first year; the board voted to adopt both resolutions unanimously.
The District Attorney’s office requested a transfer of $6,369 from its contingency line to cover two new printers ($4,500) and $1,869 for travel/prisoner transport related to a felony trial; the board approved the transfer by unanimous roll call.
All motions referenced above were moved, seconded and carried by roll call. The board also announced it will reconvene on Feb. 3, 2026, and noted a Feb. 6 public hearing in Judge Cox’s courtroom on an election‑board petition to merge the former South Newcastle Borough precinct with Chenango Township 3.
