The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors voted to annex Tentative Subdivision Tract Number 83534, in unincorporated Rowland Heights, to County Lighting Maintenance District 1687 and the County Lighting District Landscaping and Lighting Act unincorporated zone for fiscal year 2027–28.
Staff reported a departmental statement had been submitted, no correspondence had been received, and no ballots protesting the annexation were returned. Steve Berger, deputy director of the Department of Public Works, was available for questions but no members of the public spoke on the item.
On a motion moved by Chair Hilda Solis and seconded by Supervisor Barger, the board adopted resolutions ordering the annexation, levying assessments, and approving the negotiated exchange of property tax revenues resulting from the annexation. The executive officer called the roll and recorded Supervisors Mitchell, Hahn, Barter, and Solis voting "aye." The motion passed 4 to 0.
The resolutions approve the administrative steps required to add Tract 83534 to County Lighting Maintenance District 1687; the departmental statement and the absence of ballots were noted as the basis for closing the public hearing and moving to adoption. Departmental staff remain the point of contact for implementation questions.
The board did not receive public protest and did not amend the staff recommendation during the hearing.
