Artesia High girls volleyball honored by LA County for first CIF Division 8 title

The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors presented scrolls recognizing the Artesia High School girls volleyball team after the program won the CIF Southern Section Division 8 championship, the first such title in the school's history.

Captain DeJulianne Goes thanked the board, school administration, coaches, families and supporters, calling the championship a historic moment for Artesia and “proof that our belief and commitment can turn dreams into reality.” Head coach Francisco Serrano, named CIF Division 8 coach of the year in the transcript, praised the players for their dedication and credited family and coaching staff for the turnaround.

The board publicly presented scrolls, invited the team forward for photographs, and applauded the student-athletes and coaches. The recognition was part of the meeting’s scroll presentation segment and carried no formal board action beyond ceremonial acknowledgment.
