Governor appoints Paulette Brown Hinds to California Transportation Commission; RCTC welcomes appointment

In his executive director report, an RCTC staff member announced that the governor appointed Paulette Brown Hinds of Riverside to the California Transportation Commission, filling a seat left vacant after the death of longtime commissioner Joe Tavolone. The director said RCTC and partners had advocated for an Inland Empire representative and that Brown Hinds will join the Commission at its December meeting held in the same chamber.

The director described Brown Hinds as a member of the local civic leadership group the Monday Morning Group, publisher of Black Voice News, and active on several nonprofit boards in the Inland Empire. Staff said they will brief the new commissioner later the same day with colleagues from San Bernardino.
