Commissioners voted by voice to approve a request from the sheriffor 10 new computers (approximately $20,000) to update outdated equipment.
The commission agreed to defer approval of additional patrol vehicles after staff and commissioners pointed out that 5–7 county vehicles remain in fleet inventory but are not yet outfitted (lights, radios, cameras). Members asked the sheriff to supply a worksheet showing which vehicles are in service, mileage/maintenance histories, and the timeline for outfitting so the commission can decide whether to authorize new purchases now or to prioritize completing outfitting of existing vehicles.
County finance staff also reviewed several CIP projects being considered for different funding sources, including facility funds for courthouse handrails and exterior painting, and possible park-and-rec or sports-complex contributions for new lighting at the rodeo arena and softball field. Commissioners said they will revisit vehicle purchases after the sheriff provides the requested detail at a future session.
No formal numeric roll-call was recorded in the minutes; approved items were taken by voice vote.
