Appropriations Committee dispenses with suspense file; moves dozens of bills to Assembly floor

The committee conducted a suspense-file hearing covering 53 bills and moved 43 of them to the Assembly for floor consideration, largely as "do pass" or "do pass with amendments." The chair said the hearing order was alphabetical by author and that committee staff will publish the suspense-file results and any amendment text on the Assembly Appropriations Committee website later the same day; amendment language will also be available through the California Legislative Information website.

The chair read a long list of bills and their dispositions on the record, including measures recommended "do pass" or "do pass as amended" on a variety of subjects (public safety, housing, environmental measures, workforce items and others). The committee adjourned after the suspense-file disposition and announced votes and amendment availability would be posted online.
