The Merrimack School District Budget Committee voted Oct. 15 to keep regular meetings in the high school cafeteria while requesting additional information from Merrimack TV about the town hall Matthew Thornton room.
Members weighed trade-offs: the Matthew Thornton room offers built-in broadcast facilities and an existing recording setup, which Merrimack TV representatives said can reduce setup time and support live-streaming, but some members worried the room’s seating and desk layout would make committee discussion harder and public access could be constrained. Accessibility concerns were raised and addressed: Merrimack TV and members confirmed an elevator/lift provides ADA access to the town hall room.
A Merrimack TV representative (Justin) described the technical setup and encouraged committee members to visit the room. The committee voted to keep meetings at the high school for now but passed a unanimous motion asking Merrimack TV to present a schematic and staffing/cost plan so the committee can reconsider the location with better information.
The next committee meeting is scheduled for Nov. 19 at the high school, when administrators will present the year‑end review.
