Westborough planning board continues four public hearings, sets May dates

The Town of Westborough Planning Board on April 16 voted to continue four public hearings for development applications to give applicants and staff time to provide additional information.

Chair Hazel Nurse opened the meeting and announced the board would acknowledge, rather than read verbatim, multiple continuation requests. The board recorded motions to continue the public hearings as requested: 165 Flanders Road (application ID 22-02443) was continued to the May 21, 2024 meeting; 134 Fisher Street (application ID 2303565) was continued to May 21, 2024; 101–105 Flanders Road (application ID 24-00539) was continued to the May 7, 2024 meeting; and 18 & 30 Lyman Street (application ID 24-00514) was continued to the May 7, 2024 meeting.

An unidentified board member made each motion; another board member seconded them. The board announced the result for the Fisher Street continuance as “3 to nothing.” For the other continuances the chair called for the vote and the motions were carried; detailed tallies were not recorded on the public audio for each item.

The continuances give staff and applicants more time to coordinate outstanding materials — including sewer allocation information and responses to comments — ahead of the new hearing dates. Chair Hazel Nurse said minutes review was deferred until additional members could examine the records and confirmed the board will meet next on May 7 and May 21.
