Senator Bullock read a proclamation on the Senate floor condemning human trafficking and called for statewide cooperation among schools, churches, nonprofits, law enforcement, and businesses.
"Today, we take a stand against human trafficking and declare not in our state," the proclamation said, noting that human trafficking "impacts people across all demographics and ages, including teenagers and children," and citing that Arizona ranks among the top 15 states per capita for human trafficking in the proclamation text.
Bullock invited members and guests associated with the nonprofit Not in Our City and described Raven Ministries and Chaplain Ron Legatta’s service as chaplain for the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office. The proclamation called for prevention, disruption of trafficking networks, and support services for victims.
The Senate received the proclamation and welcomed representatives from the organization to the gallery; the proclamation itself does not create enforceable law but signals legislative recognition and public awareness.
