The Minnetonka Planning Commission voted to retain Chair Maxwell and elected Commissioner Banks as vice chair during its January session. Commissioners also agreed to delay selecting a sustainability commission liaison until replacement members join in March.
Staff noted that the commission completed a major bylaws and policies overhaul last year and is not proposing additional changes this year. Staff advised that any suggested changes (for example, potential limits on the amount of fill permitted on private property) would be best addressed through the zoning ordinance work group and follow the code revision process.
Nominations for chair and vice chair were taken from the floor. Commissioner Minion volunteered interest in the sustainability liaison seat, and commissioners discussed continuity and timing for appointees; the commission recorded unanimous yes votes for Chair Maxwell and for Commissioner Banks as vice chair. Commissioners also discussed ensuring experienced commissioners represent the body on the Sustainability Commission when the new members are seated in March.
The commission then adjourned.
