The Westborough Affordable Housing Trust on May 9 voted unanimously to award MetroWest Collaborative Development the administration contract for a pilot Homebuyer Down Payment Assistance (DPA) program and to allocate $12,000 to fund administration through June 30, 2025.
Staff said they solicited four bids and received two responses; MetroWest’s proposal came in at $11,250 for administration for the year (staff clarified that the figure is per year, not per hour). MetroWest previously administered the town’s COVID‑era emergency rental assistance program.
Director Burke moved to award the bid to MetroWest Collaborative Development and to authorize the project team to prepare and negotiate a contract for signature; the motion passed 6‑0. Trustees also voted to encumber $12,000 to cover the contract and authorized the chair (and designees) with advice of counsel to finalize contract terms.
Staff said launching administration July 1 would align with the fiscal year and that the trust will track the pilot’s caseload and results to inform future budgeting.
