Development authority to fund $19,500 sewer study; FAA grant funds for county airport noted

The Morrow County development authority reported it will fully fund a $19,500 feasibility study for the Smoker Sewer District and will gift the study results to the county for consideration.

A development authority representative (first referenced in the transcript during the authority update) said the study will examine the feasibility of expanding sewer services in the area and that the development authority will pay the study cost. The representative also described a proposed swap of a small driveway parcel at a property on Neil Avenue to realign access to an adjacent parcel and said the authority had signed a professional-services contract for that work.

The authority also reported it had contracted with Fisher's office for a survey, recorded in the transcript as costing about $1,500. Authority members said they had met on site with staff and partners including Grayson and Randy Preston to review the work. Separately, the authority said its airport met with the Federal Aviation Administration at 9:00 a.m. to review grant allocations; the transcript records about $21,000 in grant funds that must be spent by June of the next year or will expire.
