Commission approves $9,000 renewal for county website chatbox service

Duchesne County commissioners voted Dec. 8 to renew a subscription for a web-based chatbox service (referred to in the meeting as "Polymorphic") that routes public inquiries and provides answers on tax parcels, payment methods, inmate lookups and other frequently asked questions.

Staff said the system has processed dozens of inquiries since its August start and that it has been useful for routing questions to appropriate departments; examples included parcel lookup, court‑filing procedures and jail inmate inquiries. "We average about 5, 6, 7 a day," the staff member said while recommending renewal.

The vendor proposed an annual fee of $9,000 for calendar year 2026. A commissioner moved and a second was recorded; the motion to renew the subscription at $9,000 passed by voice vote and the chair was authorized to sign the agreement.

What’s next: staff will execute the contract for 2026 and integrate the chatbox with planned website improvements.
