Commission keeps current leadership and adopts tentative 2026 meeting cadence

During the Jan. 8 meeting, the North Logan Planning and Zoning Commission confirmed its leadership and reviewed the 2026 meeting schedule.

An unnamed commissioner moved to retain the current chair and keep 'Gavin' in a leadership role; the motion was seconded and approved by voice vote. Commissioners then reviewed a tentative 2026 calendar staff had shared with city council before the holidays. Scott Warner told the commission the second meeting in a month will generally be held tentatively to accommodate fewer large projects following the completion of the general plan and major code work; the regular cadence will be the first Thursday of each month unless holidays or conflicts arise.

Warner said the tentative schedule attempts to avoid known conflicts and major conferences that officials traditionally attend, and staff will update agendas as needed. Commissioners expressed support for having an alternate meeting slot and for the plan to keep a lighter meeting cadence in the coming year.

Clarifying details: the commission's prior meeting date referenced was Oct. 23; staff reported city council’s recent approval of text amendments and that the city recorder is codifying them into the online municipal code.
