Assembly approves $4.81 million in claims and broad consent items including airport terminal funding introductions

The Ketchikan Gateway Borough Assembly approved presented claims totaling $4,812,110.93 and approved the consent calendar as amended.

Assemblymember Palmer moved approval of the claims; the clerk called the roll and recorded seven yes votes. The clerk summarized consent calendar items covered under one motion: introduction of an ordinance (listed in the packet as "ordinance 292096") appropriating funds from a FEMA Assistance to Firefighters grant and other sources; introduction of ordinance 2097 (the diesel‑spill remediation request, moved to unfinished business); introduction of ordinance 2098 appropriating $8,687,813 for phase 1 of the Ketchikan Airport terminal expansion; and resolution 3162 authorizing an application for up to $8,871,113.07 from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law airport terminal program. Members removed items 7b and 7e for separate consideration before approving the consent calendar as amended.

Assemblymember Masson moved approval of the consent calendar as amended; the assembly approved the motion on roll call (7 yes). Several members noted the airport terminal funding and school district project MOA among the items the assembly will track.

Next steps: items introduced on the consent calendar will return as appropriate for additional hearings or second readings where the ordinance language requires it.
