Commission approves sheriff agreements, consent agenda and property‑tax register; recesses to BOE

Chief Deputy Arnold Butcher presented two sheriff's‑office items on Jan. 20: a subdivision takeover agreement that transfers responsibility for metering and related infrastructure (the builder waived the usual one‑year warranty), and an agreement with Gill Park Training to hold firearms training at the Davis County Shooting Range from Aug. 26–29, 2026. Commissioners moved, seconded, and approved items 8 and 9 by voice vote.

The Commission then approved consent agenda items 10–14 (agreements with USA Wrestling, USA Ultimate, low‑dollar Western Sports Park agreements, Davis County Library quarter‑4 donations, and library low‑dollar contracts) by voice vote. Later the Commission recessed to convene the Board of Equalization, which reviewed property corrections and approved the property tax register as presented.
